Russia's DIDF-2026 draws 13,000 as Nizhny Novgorod cements tech leadership

The Digital Industry of Industrial Russia Forum (DIDF-2026) has wrapped up in Nizhny Novgorod, drawing more than 13,000 participants from 47 countries. This year’s event saw a significant rise in attendance, with over 2,000 more visitors than in 2025. The forum highlighted the region’s growing role in technology and digital innovation. The three-day event focused on digital transformation and technological sovereignty. Over 1,000 experts took part in 165 panel discussions, covering topics from cybersecurity to AI-driven governance. Meanwhile, 185 exhibition stands displayed the latest tech solutions, including over 50 new developments from Russian IT firms.

More than 350 agreements were signed during the forum, many involving international partners. Nizhny Novgorod’s IT sector also reported strong growth, with combined revenue for local companies jumping to over 97 billion rubles—a 1.5-fold increase. Officials project that, by the end of 2026, 75% of software used in local governance will be domestically developed. The region has now established itself as a leading centre for discussions on tech independence. Organisers noted that the surge in attendance and partnerships reflects broader interest in Russia’s digital economy.

DIDF-2026 reinforced Nizhny Novgorod’s position as a hub for technological advancement. The forum’s outcomes included new business deals, expanded international ties, and a clear push toward greater reliance on homegrown software. With revenue rising and domestic solutions gaining ground, the region’s IT sector appears set for further expansion.
