Russians Can Now Apply for Pensions Online via Gosuslugi Portal

Russian citizens nearing retirement age can now apply for their old-age insurance pension through the Gosuslugi public services portal. The process has been streamlined, with approval notifications sent directly to applicants’ personal accounts on the platform.

Applications may be submitted up to one month before reaching the qualifying age—54 for women and 59 for men. To qualify, applicants must have at least 30 individual pension points and meet specific work and insurance coverage requirements.

If an applicant’s employment history is fully recorded in their Individual Personal Account (IPA), no extra documents are needed. However, those with incomplete IPA records must provide supporting paperwork within three months of applying. Processing typically takes five business days. If documents are missing, the review period extends to ten business days. Once approved, the pension decision is sent to the applicant’s Gosuslugi account. For assistance, a toll-free helpline is available at 8-800-10-000-01. Operators can be reached Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The new system aims to simplify pension applications by reducing paperwork for those with complete IPA records. Approval times remain short, and support is available through a dedicated helpline. Successful applicants receive their pension confirmation directly via Gosuslugi.
