Remote Russian village Talaya finally connects to central electricity grid

Talaya, a remote settlement in Magadan Oblast, is set to receive a reliable supply of centralised electricity. A new power line, now ready for connection, will link the area to the region’s main grid and support key local facilities. Magadanenergo PJSC has completed preparations to integrate the new line with its existing 220 kV Orotukan–Palatka transmission route. The company’s CEO, Vladimir Milotvorsky, confirmed that all necessary steps for the connection have been finalised.

The upgraded infrastructure will serve multiple purposes. It will power a modern electric boiler plant, ensuring stable heating for Talaya’s residents. The line will also supply electricity to a well-known sanatorium famous for its thermal springs. Beyond residential needs, the project will support the region’s largest agribusiness complex. Once operational, Magadanenergo will take full responsibility for maintaining the settlement’s electrical systems and guaranteeing uninterrupted performance.

The new connection marks a shift from isolated power sources to a centralised grid for Talaya. Magadanenergo will oversee all future maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability for homes, businesses and public services in the area.
