Russia pushes domestic tech at Digital Industry conference
Russia’s Federal Customs Service (FTS) took part in the 11th Digital Industry of Industrial Russia conference this week. The event highlighted efforts to replace foreign software with local alternatives and boost automation in key sectors. A delegation led by Deputy Head Vladimir Ivín explored new IT solutions on display at the exhibition.
The conference brought together industry leaders to discuss digital transformation in manufacturing. Topics included AI adoption, process automation, and the shift toward domestic software. Ivín stressed the need for effective Russian-made tools in developing the EIAS TO 2.0 digital ecosystem for customs operations.
Andrey Orekhov, head of the FTS Central Directorate for Information Technology and Communications, joined a session on *Critical Information Infrastructure 2.0*. His participation underscored the agency’s focus on strengthening cybersecurity and modernising digital frameworks. During the event, Ivín also met with Dmitry Grigorenko, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister. Their talks centred on speeding up the rollout of homegrown digital solutions across major economic sectors.
The FTS delegation examined products from leading IT firms at the exhibition. Discussions at the conference aimed to fast-track the use of Russian technology in customs and other industries. Officials highlighted the role of domestic innovation in reducing reliance on foreign systems.
