Quixote cuts 70 jobs as film production slows in LA and Atlanta

A major industry vendor, Quixote, is scaling back its operations in both Los Angeles and Atlanta. The move follows a long period of reduced activity in commercial, television, and film production. Over 70 jobs will be affected across the two cities as a result. Quixote has announced it will wind down much of its sound stage business in Los Angeles. In Atlanta, the company is also closing key operations, impacting local crews and vendors. Darius Evans, co-president of the Georgia Production Partnership, confirmed the changes but described them as a market correction rather than a collapse.

Georgia has seen a decline in productions as more projects shift overseas for lower costs. Despite this, 26 productions are still active in the state, including six feature films. Evans remains cautious but notes that the industry is adjusting rather than disappearing.

The slowdown has forced Quixote to reduce its workforce by 70 positions. While some productions continue, the trend of overseas relocation remains a challenge. The changes reflect broader shifts in the entertainment industry’s economic landscape.
