Potsdam's lakeside beaches reopen May 14 with fresh upgrades and summer fun
Potsdam’s lakeside beaches will officially reopen to the public on May 14 at 10 a.m. Two popular spots, Stadtbad Park Babelsberg and Waldbad Templin, have prepared for visitors with fresh upgrades and classic attractions. Stadtbad Park Babelsberg reopened last July after a major renovation. The site retains its East German-era climbing arches and flower planters, now paired with modern facilities. Sanitary areas, changing rooms, and showers have been updated, while new bike racks with charging stations offer added convenience.
*Waldbad Templin* caters to a wide range of visitors. A large water slide, beach volleyball courts, and a shallow wading pool for children sit alongside wakeboarding, pedal boats, and a 'fun banana' inflatable. The location also includes a well-known nudist (*FKK*) area. The weather forecast suggests cooler conditions on Ascension Day (Thursday) and Friday. By Saturday, temperatures are set to rise above 20°C (68°F), making it an ideal time for a swim or outdoor activities.
Both Waldbad Templin and Stadtbad Park Babelsberg will welcome guests from opening day. The improved facilities and varied attractions aim to draw crowds as warmer weather arrives. With temperatures climbing, the beaches are ready for the season ahead.
