MuseumsQuartier's 25th Anniversary Sparks Joy with Free Children's Culture Trail
MuseumsQuartier (MQ) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a lively Children’s Culture Trail. The event runs from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, offering free admission and a packed programme for families. Visitors can explore interactive stations, workshops, and performances across the MQ’s iconic spaces.
This year’s trail introduces new activities alongside returning favourites. The 'From Party Hats to Festive Crowns!' station lets children craft their own headpieces, while the 'Birds of Neubau' screen-printing workshop and miniature sailboat workshop make a comeback. For quieter moments, the (Pre-)Reading Island and Milieukino provide spaces to relax with books or short films.
The ZOOM Children’s Museum has transformed into a giant marble-run landscape for its 'Under and Over' event. Meanwhile, the MQ Summer Stage hosts literary readings, children’s plays, dance shows, and live music. Art lovers can visit 'The Material Show' at MQ Freiraum, where hands-on experiments with different materials are encouraged. History buffs will enjoy the 'Carriage Ride Through the MQ' puzzle trail, guiding them through the site’s past. Major institutions like the Az W, Leopold Museum, Kunsthalle Wien, and Tanzquartier Wien are also joining in, offering special workshops and programmes for all ages.
The Children’s Culture Trail brings together creativity, play, and learning in one vibrant event. With free entry and activities running all day, the MQ’s anniversary celebration invites families to discover its spaces in new ways. The mix of interactive stations, performances, and workshops ensures something for every visitor.
