A search operation for a missing man in East Kazakhstan has concluded after his body was recovered from a lake. The 23-year-old had disappeared while sapboarding and was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident. The man, born in 2001, went missing while sapboarding on a lake known for its deep waters. Emergency services, including DES personnel, divers, and rescue teams, launched an immediate search using boats, drones, and sonar equipment.

Over the course of the mission, specialists carried out 59 dives to locate the victim. The operation faced challenges due to the lake’s depth, which reaches around 20 metres in the area where the body was eventually found—approximately 200 metres from shore.

Following the recovery, rescuers reminded the public about the importance of water safety. They urged residents to always wear life jackets when engaging in activities on lakes, rivers, or reservoirs. The search effort concluded with the recovery of the man’s body from the lake. Authorities have reiterated safety warnings to prevent similar incidents in the future. The case serves as a reminder of the risks associated with water sports without proper precautions.
