Manner Debuts Its First Electric Truck for Greener Factory Logistics
Austrian confectionery producer Manner has introduced its first fully electric truck for daily factory logistics. The vehicle, a MAN eTGX, will transport raw materials between the company’s production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf. This move marks a step toward cutting transport emissions and improving sustainability in its supply chain. The electric truck, a MAN eTGX 20.449 4x2 model, delivers 330 kilowatts (449 horsepower). It will carry essential ingredients like nougat and chocolate compounds between Manner’s two facilities. Powered mainly by renewable electricity, the vehicle sources energy from green providers and Manner’s own photovoltaic panels.
Manner is also testing the truck beyond core logistics, exploring wider operational uses. The company has already secured funding for a second electric tractor unit. Additionally, plans include adding a 7.5-tonne electric delivery truck for urban routes. MAN Truck & Bus, the manufacturer behind the eTGX, reported global revenues of around €14.1 billion in 2025. The company employs roughly 32,000 people worldwide. The electric HGV is designed to reduce CO₂ emissions and lower noise pollution along its route.
The shift to electric logistics aligns with Manner’s goal of a more sustainable energy supply chain. With two electric trucks soon in operation and a smaller delivery vehicle planned, the company is expanding its green transport fleet. These changes will directly cut emissions and noise from its daily factory operations.
