Mainz bus services grind to a halt after heavy snow and black ice

According to reports, no buses were running until 7 a.m. Service was only gradually resumed afterward. However, cancellations persisted on steeper routes and some school runs, the KRN stated.

The disruptions were caused by snow and black ice on the roads. The German Meteorological Service (DWD) had issued a severe weather warning for Mainz and the surrounding area on Monday morning, cautioning of "significant disruptions across all transport routes."
