Krasnodar Crowns Top Welders in Russia's Best in Profession Finals
The regional finals of Russia’s national Best in Profession welding competition have wrapped up in Krasnodar. The event showcased top talent in the field, with three welders earning recognition for their skills. Organisers also used the competition to promote blue-collar careers as part of a wider federal initiative. Contestants took on a two-stage challenge to prove their expertise. First, they completed a theoretical exam covering technical knowledge. Then, they demonstrated their hands-on abilities in a practical welding test.
Yevgeny Gromov emerged as the winner, securing first place and a spot at the national finals. Pyotr Pokusayev followed in second, while Vladimir Korolyov took third. All finalists received gifts from sponsors in recognition of their hard work. Vladimir Pravolamsky, head of Krasnodar Region’s Department of Construction, commended the participants for their commitment. He noted the event’s role in reinforcing Krasnodar’s standing as a key centre for construction industry growth.
The competition formed part of the Worker of the Future initiative, aimed at raising the profile of skilled trades. Gromov will now advance to represent Krasnodar Territory at the national level. The regional stage has once again highlighted the importance of vocational excellence in the sector.
