Khabarovsk's Kiseleva Tenement House Hits Market After Fire and Centuries of Change
A historic building in Khabarovsk has gone up for sale after years of changing hands and shifting purposes. The Kiseleva Tenement House, located on Sheronova Street, is now listed for 85 million rubles. Its past includes government use, private ownership, and a recent fire that left part of the structure in ruins. The property’s origins trace back to 1899, when Madame Kiseleva purchased the land. By 1902, a two-storey stone tenement house stood on the site, accompanied by additional buildings. The stone structure later became home to the Third Excise District Administration, with apartments for its staff.
Over the decades, the building’s role changed repeatedly. During the Far Eastern Republic and Soviet eras, it housed various institutions. Private ownership returned in 2006, marking a new chapter for the property. In recent years, the wooden section suffered a major fire in 2024. Vladtrek, a company that won the auction to restore this part, halted work before finishing. Now, the entire property is back on the market, awaiting a new owner.
The Kiseleva Tenement House remains a landmark with a layered history. Its current price reflects both its heritage and the damage from the 2024 fire. The sale offers a chance to restore or repurpose a building that has served many roles since its construction.
