The Fencing World Cup, being held in Astana for the first time, is determining the winners of the team competitions today, according to our website, citing the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture under the Ministry of Tourism.

In the bronze medal match, the men's teams of Kazakhstan and Japan faced off.

The Japanese fencers emerged victorious with a final score of 44–42.

This result leaves the Kazakh national team in fourth place at their home tournament. The squad included Vadim Sharlaimov, Nikita Zhulinsky, Elmir Alimzhanov, and Alexander Fedotov.

The men's final will feature the teams of France and Italy, while the women's gold medal match will pit South Korea against the United States.

Officials noted that earlier today, the Kazakh men's team defeated Poland and the U.S. but lost to France—the nine-time Olympic champions—in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Kazakh women's team was eliminated in the round of 32 after a loss to Israel.

The competition in Astana has drawn nearly 500 athletes from 46 countries. Kazakhstan's team also earned a silver medal in the individual event, thanks to Ruslan Kurbanov.
