The image shows a painting of a group of women standing in front of a building, with a tree in the background. The painting is titled "Mother and Child" by Paul Gauguin. The women are wearing traditional clothing and the building is painted in a muted color palette of blues, greens, and yellows. The tree is a tall, leafy one with a few branches reaching up to the sky. The text at the bottom of the painting is written in a cursive font.

How Young Mothers on Tour is transforming lives through community trips

Ambitious Viersen Painters and Photographers Donate Art to Support "Young Mothers on Tour"

Local artists from Viersen generously donated numerous works to viersen°openart for the "Young Mothers on Tour" initiative—a collaborative project by the ALO Youth and Community Center in Dülken and Viersen's Early Childhood Support Services. The campaign is led by social workers Bettina Passon (ALO Youth and Community Center Dülken) and Nicole Henneböhl (City of Viersen).

After young mothers and their children took part in a group excursion last year, specialists observed clear psychosocial benefits for the participants. Thanks to the high quality of the donated artwork from Viersen residents, the initiative raised €1,000 for the program.

viersen°openart extends its gratitude to all donors. Unsold pieces have already been returned to the artists, while some will be offered again at the next art festival benefit sale on August 16.
