H-E-B's newest store draws overnight crowds in Hurst-Euless-Bedford

The new H-E-B store in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford area opened its doors at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20. Eager shoppers had already begun queuing the night before, with some camping out to secure their spot in line. Stacey and Mike Archip arrived first, taking their place at the front of the line by 6 p.m. the previous evening. Nearby, Lauren Gamble had taken a day off work just to be among the first inside. Macie Thlang also camped overnight, determined to experience the grand opening up close.

As the queue grew, H-E-B employees handed out water and snacks to those waiting. The gesture reflected the company’s focus on community, a value highlighted by Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B’s Executive Vice President. He stressed the brand’s commitment to caring for customers and passing on savings. The store’s location, on a Euless address near Bedford, drew significant attention. The City of Bedford had prepared for the crowds, adjusting traffic signals and deploying off-duty police to manage potential delays. Among those waiting, Nidia Sayas and Jessica Redd struck up a friendship while standing halfway down the line just after midnight. This opening marks the latest expansion for H-E-B in North Texas. More stores are set to follow soon in Dallas, Irving, Carrollton, and Denton.

The grand opening attracted dedicated shoppers, some of whom waited for hours to be among the first inside. With additional locations planned across North Texas, H-E-B continues to grow its presence in the region. The company’s focus on customer care and community support was clear from the moment the doors opened.
