Gamer defeats Crimson Desert boss with a single tree throw

The streamer was battling the boss Abyss Kutum in Crimson Desert. Instead of facing the enemy with conventional weapons, he simply felled a tree at the edge of the arena and dragged it into the center.

After quickly restoring his character Kliff's stamina, the streamer hurled the tree lengthwise at the boss.

Miraculously, the move wiped out the enemy's entire health bar in one go. A single unassuming tree managed to one-shot the boss—much to the streamer's astonishment.

"A tree is the most overpowered weapon in the whole game!" he declared.

How Is the Community Reacting?

Viewers and users on X have met the discovery with a mix of amusement and approval:

  • "When you bring a tree to a sword fight," Rory Drybear Newbrough quipped.
  • "What the hell? I just found this boss today, and he wrecked me, so I bailed. And now I can't get this out of my head… He's done for," MopHandle celebrated.
  • "I mean… if you're strong enough to hurl a tree, it kinda makes sense," Joshua Bell reasoned.
  • "Better defeat all the bosses with trees before they patch it," halo3br warned.

In truth, it's questionable whether this tactic was actually intended by the developers. While Crimson Desert is known for its hidden mechanics and unexpected possibilities, this might just be a bug.

Whether the trick will still work after a future update remains unclear. Pearl Abyss may well fix this one-shot exploit, forcing players to take on the boss the old-fashioned way.
