Fortis Hospital Kalyan unveils cutting-edge emergency care upgrade after 20 years

Fortis Hospital Kalyan has launched a major upgrade to its Emergency Department after two decades of service. The facility now stands as one of the region’s most advanced emergency care centres. Alongside the expansion, the hospital introduced Code QRT 2.0, a new initiative to strengthen emergency response across the area. The upgraded department features four dedicated emergency beds and a specialised negative pressure isolation room. Each resuscitation bay is fitted with continuous cardiac monitoring, ventilation, and defibrillation equipment. Over 60,000 emergencies have been handled by the hospital’s specialists, covering medical (33%), cardiac (31%), surgical (24%), and neurological (12%) cases.

The new **Code QRT 2.0** programme aims to ensure no critical patient misses life-saving treatment within the crucial first hour. It connects Fortis Hospital Kalyan with 15 key hospitals in Kalyan-Dombivali, creating a coordinated emergency network. The initiative extends support beyond the hospital’s walls, improving access to urgent care across the region. A multidisciplinary team of specialists now manages emergencies around the clock. The hospital’s long-standing experience, combined with the latest technology, reinforces its role as a leading emergency care provider.

The expanded department and Code QRT 2.0 system mark a significant step in emergency healthcare for Kalyan-Dombivali. Patients in critical condition will now receive faster, more coordinated treatment. The hospital’s 20-year legacy continues with enhanced facilities and broader community support.
