Fiserv and OpenAI team up to revolutionize banking with AI-powered tools
Fiserv and OpenAI have announced a new partnership to bring advanced AI tools into banking operations. The collaboration aims to streamline complex financial tasks, from system upgrades to fraud prevention. Both companies are already working together to develop solutions for financial institutions. The partnership will focus on four key areas. These include AI agents for automating high-volume workflows, modernising banking systems, and enhancing cybersecurity. Additionally, the teams will build banking-specific AI capabilities tailored to Fiserv’s existing infrastructure.
Fiserv is developing AI agents on its agentOS platform to handle repetitive operational tasks for banks. The goal is to simplify large-scale projects like core system migrations and digital upgrades. Meanwhile, joint teams from Fiserv and OpenAI are actively testing new AI-driven features.
Dhivya Suryadevara, Co-President of Fiserv, explained that the partnership will integrate cutting-edge AI directly into Fiserv’s platforms. This move is designed to improve day-to-day operations for banking clients. Ashley Kramer, VP of Enterprise at OpenAI, added that the collaboration will embed AI into systems that financial institutions already rely on.
New AI capabilities are expected to roll out to clients between 2026 and beyond. The initiative will also explore how AI can strengthen fraud detection and cybersecurity measures for banks. The partnership between Fiserv and OpenAI will introduce AI-powered tools to simplify banking operations. Financial institutions can expect automated workflows, modernised systems, and stronger security features in the coming years. The first wave of AI-driven solutions is set to arrive by 2026.
