€345,000 State Funding Boosts Sports Clubs in Gifhorn and Wolfsburg

Sports clubs across the Gifhorn district and Wolfsburg-Vorsfelde will receive around €345,000 in state funding. The money will pay for upgrades to facilities, from new lighting to energy-efficient heating systems.

The investments cover a wide range of projects, including modernising shooting ranges, installing LED floodlights, and improving sports fields. Clubs of all sizes, from small local teams to larger organisations, will benefit from the scheme.

One of the largest grants, totalling €68,645, goes to SV Dannenbüttel. The club will replace its old heating system with a new one for €43,688. An additional €24,957 will fund solar panels to support a heat pump, cutting long-term energy costs.

Lighting upgrades form a major part of the funding. MTV Adenbüttel will switch its B-field floodlights to energy-saving LEDs with €8,568. Nearby, TSV Grussendorf will overhaul its entire floodlight system for €15,420. Shooting clubs in the region will also see improvements. Boitzenhagen Shooting Club plans to modernise its range using €7,224. Meanwhile, Flettmar Shooting Club will install an electronic target system with €15,520 in state support. The funding extends beyond individual clubs. Projects include renovating sports fields, installing new irrigation systems, and adding energy-efficient measures. The aim is to ensure facilities remain functional and sustainable for years to come.

The state of Lower Saxony’s investment targets the Gifhorn-Nord/Wolfsburg area, reinforcing local sports infrastructure. Clubs will use the €345,000 to complete essential upgrades, from heating and lighting to shooting range technology. These changes are designed to keep facilities in good condition and support the future of grassroots sports.
