Eintracht Frankfurt parts ways with head coach Albert Riera after mixed Bundesliga season
Eintracht Frankfurt has parted ways with head coach Albert Riera and his assistants, Pablo Remón Arteta and Lorenzo Dolcetti. The decision was made with immediate effect after discussions between the club and the coaching staff.
Riera took charge of the team for the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, guiding them to an eighth-place finish. His departure follows a period of mixed results and mutual agreement on the need for change.
Albert Riera stepped in with the aim of improving the squad and building a competitive side. Over the course of the season, Eintracht Frankfurt secured four wins, five draws, and five losses under his leadership. Despite these efforts, the club ultimately decided on a new direction.
Sporting director Markus Krösche acknowledged Riera’s dedication and hard work during his time at the club. The decision to part ways came after intensive talks, with both sides agreeing it was the right step forward. In a farewell message, Riera expressed gratitude for being part of Eintracht Frankfurt’s history. He also wished the club success in the future.
