Crackdown reveals illegal workshops and labor violations in nationwide inspections
A recent field inspection campaign has uncovered widespread misuse of properties across the country. Authorities found buildings illegally converted into workshops The inspections revealed that several properties had been repurposed without proper authorisation. Some were turned into carpentry workshops, while others operated as small factories or storage units for wedding supplies. A number of buildings had also been subdivided into makeshift living quarters for labourers.
The campaign forms part of broader efforts to crack down on unauthorised property use. Officials emphasised that such actions help enforce municipal and labour regulations. By targeting illegal conversions, authorities aim to uphold public safety and legal compliance nationwide. During the operation, inspectors identified 17 expatriates who were violating residency and employment rules. These individuals were detained for further legal processing.
The findings highlight ongoing challenges with unauthorised property modifications and labour violations. Authorities will continue monitoring and enforcing regulations to prevent similar breaches. Further inspections are expected as part of the campaign’s next phases.
