Dubai Police have warned against dangerous social media trends encouraging excessive energy drink consumption. Authorities highlight serious health risks, particularly for children and young people. Parents are being urged to monitor their children’s online activity more closely. The warning comes after viral challenges promoted overconsumption of high-caffeine drinks. Medical experts link this to heart rhythm disorders, sudden cardiac arrest, and other emergencies. Symptoms include convulsions, loss of consciousness, and severe anxiety.

Younger individuals face even greater dangers, such as toxicity, stomach issues, and long-term sleep problems. Dubai Police have stressed the importance of relying on official medical sources for health advice. To combat the issue, authorities launched a bilingual e-platform for online safety and fraud prevention. The site, ecrimehub.gov.ae/en, is available in English and Arabic. Residents can also report digital violations via the Dubai Police smart app, the E-Crime web platform, or by calling 901.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the risks of harmful online trends. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay vigilant and report dangerous content. Official channels remain the safest source for health guidance.
