Calvià's vibrant Europe Day unites cultures in Palmanova with music and tradition

Calvià marked Europe Day with a lively celebration in Palmanova on Sunday, May 10. The event, organised by the town hall, ran from 10am to 10pm and featured music, dance, and activities for all ages. Families and visitors gathered to enjoy a day focused on cultural diversity and European unity. The festivities kicked off with an international market along the Passeig de la Mar seafront promenade. Stalls offered food, crafts, and goods from different countries, drawing crowds throughout the day.

A highlight came with a traditional Ball de Bot performance, where Mallorcan dancers took the stage accompanied by live musicians. The main stage also hosted modern acts, including DJ sessions and live bands that kept the energy high into the evening. Children had their own entertainment, with face painting, inflatable attractions, and street parades winding through Palmanova. Meanwhile, several themed parades moved through the streets, adding colour and movement to the celebration. Europe Day has grown into an annual tradition in Calvià, bringing together locals and tourists to celebrate shared values and cultural exchange.

The event wrapped up after 12 hours of non-stop activities, from traditional dance to contemporary music. Organisers confirmed the day’s success, with large turnouts for both the market and performances. Next year’s celebration is already anticipated as part of Calvià’s cultural calendar.
