American Pacific Mining launches gold exploration at Nevada's Ziggurat Project
American Pacific Mining Corp. has launched a field reconnaissance and sampling program at its Ziggurat Gold Project in Nye County, Nevada. The site lies within the Round Mountain Trend, a well-known and active mining district in the state. The current program focuses on areas showing promising signs for Carlin-type gold deposits. These include zones with favourable rock alteration, structural features, and geochemical markers. Teams collected 59 rock samples from outcrops, loose rock fragments, and altered zones, along with 20 stream sediment samples to assess drainage patterns.
The Ziggurat Project sits roughly 20 kilometres from Kinross Gold Corporation’s Round Mountain Mine and 13 kilometres from its Gold Hill Mine. Earlier exploration at the site revealed strong pathfinder elements like arsenic, mercury, and antimony, as well as a large-scale alteration zone and untested geophysical targets. All samples have been sent to ALS Global Laboratories for analysis, with results anticipated later in the second quarter. Technical details of the program were reviewed by Eric Saderholm, a professional geologist and the company’s Managing Director of Exploration.
The company aims to uphold rigorous exploration standards throughout the project. Findings from the sampling will help determine next steps in evaluating the site’s potential for gold mineralisation. The Ziggurat Project remains a key focus within Nevada’s productive Round Mountain mining region.
