Bulgaria has claimed its first-ever Eurovision Song Contest victory after Dara triumphed with her song Bangaranga. Their gathering mirrored the joy felt across the city, where fans at the Eurovision Village in City Hall Square danced and waved flags. For Philip and Hristo, two Bulgarian natives who had made the trip to Vienna, the final was an emotional rollercoaster. Their relief and pride were shared by many as the results were announced.
Dara’s victory has cemented Bulgaria’s place in Eurovision history, bringing the contest to Sofia for the first time.
