Bruins face fan fury after Zadorov's brutal cross-check in playoff chaos
NHL fans on social media reacted to Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov's hit on Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin during Game 4 on Sunday. The Sabres defeated the Bruins 6-1.
The incident unfolded late in the third period after Nikita Zadorov approached Dahlin at center ice after a whistle. He delivered a hard cross-check to Dahlin's arm that snapped his stick, followed by an attempt to punch.
This led to a massive scrum involving multiple players. Nikita Zadotov, meanwhile, received a five-minute major for cross-checking and a game misconduct.
Here's how fans on X (formerly called Twitter) reacted. One tweeted:
"Bruins fan here. He should be suspened... but you don't have a single player that can take him on... He would destroy your entire roster... You have a much more skilled roster, but no one is fighting Zadorov and winning.. Including Stanley."
Another chimed in:
"Can't win games, so throw a tantrum like a 4-year-old and try to intentionally hurt someone.. sounds about right for a scum bag Boston team."
Here are some of the other top reactions on X:
"Nikita Zadorov deserves a suspension for that blatant whether it's the regular season or post season," a third fan wrote.
"@NHL knows exactly what happened. Failure to give Zadorov AT LEAST a 1 game suspension means you don't value safety and retaliation," one opined.
"I'm a bruins fan and I even thought that was a loser move. You know the teams cooked when you have to take cheap shots at the end of the game," another chimed in.
"Zadarov is a bum who also happens to not be a good on D. Bruins D is terrible including the overrated McAvoy," added another.
Buffalo Sabres put Nikita Zadorov's Bruins on the brink of elimination after Game 4 win
