Bhopal battles rising heat illnesses as temperatures soar beyond limits
Bhopal is facing a sharp rise in heat-related illnesses as temperatures climb. Health authorities report more patients suffering from heat cramps, dehydration, and exhaustion. JP Hospital in Bhopal recorded a 10% jump in heat-related illnesses compared to previous figures. In response, AIIMS Bhopal issued public advice: drink plenty of water, avoid midday sun, and wear loose, light clothing. They also shared first aid tips, dietary recommendations, and general safety measures. A local awareness drive, named *Beat the Heat*, took place in Bakaniya village. Residents learned how to protect themselves during extreme temperatures, with health workers stressing prevention and quick action for heat stress symptoms.
The surge in cases has pushed hospitals and officials to act swiftly. New heat stroke units and stricter monitoring aim to reduce risks. Public education campaigns continue, urging people to stay cool and seek help at the first signs of trouble.
