Astana's Patrol Service Regiment opens doors to future law enforcers

An open day event at Astana’s Patrol Service Regiment drew around 60 visitors this week. High school and college students The event featured displays of police weaponry, equipment, and specialised vehicles. Officers explained their roles and demonstrated key tools used in daily operations. Attendees also observed tactical drills and combat techniques performed by the Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR).

Representatives from Astana’s Youth Policy Department highlighted the event’s purpose. Alibek Zhusupov noted that such initiatives help young people explore career options in public service. The open day formed part of early May celebrations for Defender of the Fatherland Day, which introduces youth to roles in policing, emergency services, and the military.

Participants left with firsthand experience of law enforcement operations. The demonstrations and equipment displays provided practical insights into the profession. Similar events will continue as part of ongoing efforts to engage young people with public service careers.
