Astana Half Marathon 2025 to Host 7,000 Runners in Global Race

The fifth Astana Half Marathon is set to take place on June 7, drawing runners from across the globe. Organised by the Courage to Be First Corporate Foundation, the event will feature four race categories and serve as the Kazakhstan Championship for the 21.1 km distance. The marathon will kick off at 5:00 AM and run until 11:00 AM, with all races starting and finishing at Independence Square, close to the Qazaq Eli monument. Participants can choose from a 21.1 km half-marathon, a 10 km run, a 10 km Nordic walking event, or the Ekiden team relay. Over 7,000 athletes from more than 30 countries are expected to join.

As part of the **Roadmap for Mass Sports Development in Kazakhstan (2026–2028)**, the event holds official recognition from the **Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)**. Registration remains open on the marathon’s official website for those wishing to take part.

The Astana Half Marathon will bring together elite and amateur runners alike. With its inclusion in national sports development plans and AIMS membership, the race reinforces Kazakhstan’s growing presence in international distance running. The championship title for the half-marathon adds further prestige to this year’s event.
