Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks unveil five new high-tech zones across Vietnam

A major expansion of Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) was announced during a high-level ceremony in Singapore. The event, held on May 29, marked the approval of five new industrial zones across Vietnam. Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong attended alongside Vietnamese leaders on a state visit.

The ceremony coincided with the visit of Party General Secretary and State President To Lam to Singapore. Officials unveiled plans for five new VSIP projects in Haiphong, Nghe An, Hue, Ha Nam, and Ho Chi Minh City. These additions will bring the total number of VSIP projects nationwide to 26, pushing the network closer to its ‘30 by 30’ target—30 parks by 2030.

The newest developments include VSIP IV Binh Duong (Vinh Lap Industrial Park), designed as a next-generation hub. It will feature smart infrastructure and sustainable operations, building on the smart park models introduced since 2023, such as VSIP III Binh Duong. Another key project, Ha Nam High-tech Park, will specialise in AI and semiconductors, divided into three dedicated functional zones. VSIP is also shifting towards its VSIP 2.0 vision, which emphasises long-term sustainability and adaptability. The updated model incorporates the triple-helix approach, aligning government policies, academic research, and industry needs. This strategy aims to meet stricter global standards, including ESG compliance and net-zero commitments, as international market demands evolve.

The expansion strengthens VSIP’s position as a leader in Vietnam’s industrial development. With 26 projects now in operation or planning, the network continues to align with modern manufacturing and sustainability goals. The five new parks will further integrate advanced technology and eco-friendly practices into their operations.
