Arzamas Auctions Three 19th-Century Landmarks for Revival Projects
Three historic buildings in Arzamas are now up for auction. Governor Gleb Nikitin shared the news on his Telegram channel, highlighting a chance to restore and repurpose these 19th-century landmarks. The properties include the City Duma and Administration Building, Podsosovs’ Hotel, and a historic warehouse. All three stand on Gostiny Ryad Street and Lenin Street, right in the heart of Arzamas’ old town.
Investors can buy and transform these sites into hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, or public spaces. The key condition is keeping their original architectural features intact. This move comes as Arzamas itself undergoes a revival, with its downtown facades freshly restored and streets revitalised. The auction offers a way to preserve Arzamas’ heritage while giving the buildings new life. Potential buyers must maintain their historical character but can adapt them for modern use. The governor’s announcement signals another step in the city’s ongoing renewal.
