Primorsky Krai celebrates Victory Day with a weekend of cultural festivities

Primorsky Krai is gearing up for a busy holiday weekend filled with cultural and festive events. The celebrations kick off on May 10, with Victory Day at the heart of the programme. Concerts, sports, and family-friendly activities will run across the region over two days.

The festival begins early on May 10 at 11:00 AM at Pokrovsky Cathedral. Visitors can enjoy workshops, folk songs, and a live performance of Den Pobedy. Later, at 8:30 AM, the same venue will host a Divine Liturgy followed by a cross procession.

At midday, the Primorsky Regional Philharmonic Hall will present a children’s musical programme honouring Russia’s Hero Cities. Meanwhile, vinyl enthusiasts can gather at the Artetage Center for Contemporary Art at 1:00 PM for a collectors’ meetup. The Zarya Center for Contemporary Art will also host a lecture series on comics at the same time. In the evening, two major events take place simultaneously. The Primorsky KVN Junior League Finals start at 5:00 PM at the Primorsky Philharmonic. At the same hour, Fetisov Arena will host a charity basketball match between Primorsky Dynamo and BC Moskovsky. The following day, May 11, wraps up the weekend with a concert at 8:00 PM. St. Paul’s Church will feature music from Studio Ghibli films, offering a relaxed end to the festivities.

The holiday weekend blends tradition, entertainment, and community spirit. Events range from religious ceremonies to sporting clashes and film music. Organisers expect strong attendance across all venues.
