Silk Way Series Astana kicks off with cyclists from seven nations

An international cycling tournament has begun in Astana, drawing competitors from across Europe and Asia. The Silk Way Series Astana will run from May 15 to 17 at the Sarayarka velodrome. Riders from seven nations are set to take part in the event. The tournament brings together cyclists from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Lithuania, Greece, Azerbaijan, Russia, and Belarus. Each team will compete over three days of races at the modern Sarayarka velodrome. Organisers have prepared the venue to host the high-speed indoor competition.

Racing kicked off on May 15, with events continuing through to May 17. The schedule includes sprints, endurance races, and team pursuits. Spectators can watch as athletes vie for top positions in front of a home crowd.

The Silk Way Series Astana marks another major sporting event for the Kazakh capital. With participants from seven countries, the tournament highlights the region’s growing role in international cycling. The final results will be announced after the last race on May 17.
