Ratlam braces for extreme weather as Western Disturbance triggers storms and heatwaves
Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh is facing a spell of unstable weather due to a Western Disturbance. The region has seen intense heat, dust storms, and unexpected evening drizzle in recent days. Authorities have now warned farmers to guard their crops against potential damage. The current weather pattern stems from a mix of a Western Disturbance, cyclonic circulation, and a trough line. These conditions have pushed daytime temperatures to between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius over the next two to three days. At night, temperatures are likely to remain between 26 and 29 degrees.
Strong winds of 40 to 50 kmph are expected across Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Ujjain divisions. The Met Department has also flagged the risk of dust storms and sudden rain, urging farmers to take precautions.
Another Western Disturbance is set to activate around May 10. This could bring heavier storms and increased rainfall to the area in the coming days. The ongoing weather shifts have already disrupted daily life in Ratlam. With further disturbances on the way, residents and farmers must stay alert for changing conditions. The Met Department continues to monitor the situation closely.
