Qantas unveils ultra-long-haul flights to London and New York by 2025
Qantas, Australia’s flag carrier, continues to expand its global reach while maintaining a strong domestic network. The airline is set to launch groundbreaking nonstop routes to London and New York using ultra-long-haul aircraft. Passengers also benefit from flexible baggage policies and a well-regarded loyalty program.
Qantas operates more international flights from Australia than any other airline. Most of its nonstop destinations lie in Asia, though it is increasingly focusing on the U.S. and Europe. By 2025, the carrier plans to introduce direct flights from Sydney to London (LHR) and New York (JFK) using Airbus A350-1000s, designed for ultra-long journeys.
The airline’s fare structure varies by class and ticket type, with unbundled options offering different inclusions and fees. Despite this, Qantas remains known for its high standards in customer service and inflight experience. Travellers also enjoy generous baggage allowances, including complimentary carry-on bags and flexible checked luggage policies on domestic routes. Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn and redeem points across Oneworld alliance airlines, as well as through codeshare and interline partnerships with non-Oneworld carriers. The program adds value for regular flyers, while the airline’s network of 50 lounges worldwide—plus access to partner lounges—ensures comfort during layovers.
With its expanding route map and customer-focused policies, Qantas solidifies its position as a leading global airline. The upcoming nonstop flights to London and New York will further strengthen its international presence. Passengers continue to benefit from loyalty rewards, premium services, and a broad network of destinations.
