PWHL 2026 Coach of the Year finalists revealed ahead of Detroit ceremony

The finalists for the 2026 PWHL coach of the year award have been announced. Kori Cheverie, Carla MacLeod, and Kris Sparre are in contention for the honour. The winner will be revealed on June 16 in Detroit during the league’s annual ceremony. Kori Cheverie enters the running after leading the Victoire to first place in the regular season. Her team secured 22 wins and maintained a 16-game point streak. She previously won the award last year, beating Carla MacLeod and Troy Ryan.

Carla MacLeod guided the Charge to a playoff berth with 17 victories. Five of those wins came after her team trailed going into the third period. Her ability to turn close games around has drawn attention this season.

Kris Sparre also made an impact by taking the Fleet to second place. Under his leadership, the team clinched a playoff spot in just 24 games—the fastest in league history. The award ceremony will take place in Detroit on June 16. One of the three finalists will be named the 2026 PWHL coach of the year. The decision follows a season marked by tight competition and standout performances from all nominees.
