Strong Winds Damage Infrastructure, Cause Power Outages in Zhezkazgan

Powerful Storm Batters Zhezkazgan, Leaving Roofs Torn and Power Cut

A powerful storm in Zhezkazgan has damaged urban infrastructure and disrupted electricity supplies. High winds tore down a bus stop shelter and damaged roofs and power lines in several areas.

City mayor Ayan Beisekin addressed residents, stating: "A squall has hit the city, causing damage to power grids, brief outages in some areas, and destroying a bus stop shelter. Roofs have also been torn off in multiple locations."

According to Beisekin, the severe weather has yet to subside. With winds expected to intensify, authorities are urging residents to avoid going outside unless absolutely necessary.

"Conditions may worsen, so we strongly advise staying indoors or in shelter," he said.

The mayor noted that municipal services have been placed on high alert. He added that he is personally touring the city to assess the hardest-hit areas.
