Netflix's Apex Dominates Streaming Charts in Thrilling Debut Week

Netflix’s Apex topped streaming charts for the week of April 20–26, according to data from Samba TV. The thriller, starring Charlize Theron, led a competitive field that included returning favourites like The Boys and Euphoria. Several high-profile premieres kept viewers engaged across platforms. The latest rankings placed Apex at number one, just days after its April 24 release on Netflix. Theron plays a rock climber hunted by a serial killer in Australia’s Blue Mountains. Its strong debut pushed other major titles down the list.

HBO’s *Euphoria* took second place, with its third season premiering on April 12. The drama continues to draw large audiences on HBO and HBO Max. Meanwhile, HBO Max’s *Rooster*, starring Steve Carell as a mystery writer navigating his daughter’s college life, secured third spot. Prime Video’s *The Boys* followed in fourth. The fifth season of the raunchy satire—about a rebellion against corrupt, celebrity superheroes—began on April 8 and runs until May 20. The show’s mix of dark humour and political commentary keeps it a steady contender in the streaming race.

The week’s rankings highlight a mix of fresh releases and established hits. Apex dominated in its opening days, while Euphoria and The Boys maintained strong viewership. With multiple seasons still unfolding, competition for the top spots is likely to continue.
