Periwinkle the Clown's Identity Revealed in Shocking Series Twist

The latest series has revealed a surprising twist about the character of Periwinkle the Clown. In episode six, it was confirmed that Ingrid Kersh, played by Madeline Stowe, is the person behind the eerie clown persona. The costume design for both Periwinkle and Pennywise also included subtle nods to the show’s darker lore.

The creation of Periwinkle’s outfit involved intricate details, with 135 separate pattern pieces stitched together. Each stripe was crafted individually, adding to the costume’s complexity. The fabric chosen was silk—a material linked to the ‘Pennywise universe’ from Ingrid’s childhood.

Easter egg references to Pennywise were woven into Periwinkle’s design across different timelines. In one scene, the outfit was even shaped to mimic Pennywise’s silhouette, complete with a belted feature for emphasis. For Pennywise’s own costume, the process began with extensive testing by textile artist Alex Goldman. The pair experimented with multiple colour samples before settling on red as the dominant shade. Flexibility was also key, allowing actor Bill Skarsgård to stretch his arms and perform exaggerated movements in character.

The connection between Ingrid Kersh and Periwinkle adds a new layer to the story. The costumes, filled with hidden references and careful craftsmanship, deepen the link between the two clown figures. Fans can now spot these details in earlier episodes, knowing their significance.
