Monte-Carlo TV Festival Opens with The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Premiere

The 65th Monte-Carlo Television Festival will run from June 12 to 16 this year. The event opens with the international premiere of the first two episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, which debuts this summer on AMC and AMC+. Actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan, alongside showrunner Seth Hoffman, will attend the festival’s opening night. The series’ new season will kick off the five-day programme.

The festival will honour several industry figures. Kristin Scott Thomas and Kurt Russell will receive the Crystal Nymph Award, while Michel Drucker is set for the Honorary Nymph Award. British actor Matthew Broome and Spanish actress Ester Expósito will both be awarded the International Golden Nymph for most promising talent. Two juries will judge this year’s entries. Lesley Manville chairs the fiction jury, joined by Charlene McKenna, Frédérique Bel, Greg Daniels, Hojin Kwon, Kevin McKidd, and Yasmin Finney. Susanne Daniels leads the digital jury, with Luke Hyams as a member and a third juror to be announced soon.

The festival’s schedule includes screenings, ceremonies, and industry discussions. Season 3 of The Walking Dead: Dead City will premiere in full this summer, following its festival launch. Awards and premieres will mark the event’s 65th edition.
