Nick Jonas Leads a Deadly Holiday Gift Exchange in White Elephant

A new horror-comedy, White Elephant, has begun production with a star-studded cast and a deadly twist on a festive tradition. Directed by Eli Craig, the film follows eight friends whose holiday gift exchange spirals into a lethal competition. Financing comes from MRC, marking the first release under their new horror and thriller label, RSPX. The project is based on a script by JT Billings, with additional writing from Craig himself. Production is led by a team of companies: Project X Entertainment, Powered by Jonas, and Radio Silence. William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, James Vanderbilt, Spencer Berman, Jonas, Tyler Gillett, and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin serve as producers, while JT Billings, Ryan McDonough, Amanda Drake, Kathryn Newton, Scott Levine, and Chad Villella take on executive roles.

The cast includes Nick Jonas, Kathryn Newton, KJ Apa, Alexandra Shipp, Ashley Park, Justice Smith, Josh Brener, and Madeleine Arthur. The plot centres on a group of friends vying for a prize in a holiday gift exchange that quickly turns murderous. MRC holds domestic distribution rights, while Black Bear is managing international sales. The film is being showcased at the Cannes market as part of Black Bear’s lineup.

White Elephant marks the debut release under MRC’s RSPX, a new venture dedicated to horror and thriller films. With production underway and international sales in progress, the film is set to bring a darkly comedic take on a festive tradition to audiences soon.
