Cole Caufield Climbs NHL Goal-Scoring Race After Strong Performance

NHL scoring race tightens as Macaufield closes in on MacKinnon's lead

Montreal Canadiens forward Cole Caufield strengthened his position in the NHL's goal-scoring race this season after a standout game against the Carolina Hurricanes. In the regular-season matchup, which ended in a 3–1 victory for Montreal, the 25-year-old winger tallied a goal and an assist. With that performance, his season total now stands at 46 goals in the current regular-season campaign.

This tally places Caufield second in the league's goal-scoring leaderboard.

His latest goal widened the gap between him and his closest rivals. Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid currently sits at 42 goals, while Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov has 40.

The only player ahead of Caufield in the scoring race is Colorado Avalanche leader Nathan MacKinnon, who has 48 goals so far this season.
