Movsar Evloev: Career and Title Prospects in the UFC

Movsar Evloev's UFC title shot hangs in limbo despite latest win

In his most recent bout, undefeated Movsar Evloev defeated Lerone Murphy but still failed to secure an official title shot in the featherweight division. In a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, Henry Cejudo weighed in on the situation:

"I think Dana White isn't convinced to give this guy a title fight, because if he were, he'd say, 'Evloev is next—he's getting his shot.'"

The UFC veteran continued:

"You know how Dana White used to have a thing against Merab Dvalishvili, and then Merab went out and beat me? And what did he say right after the fight? He said, 'Merab gets the next title shot. I can't deny this guy.' When you don't hear that kind of answer from Dana White, things get a lot tougher. And the only reason I say that is because they brought in Jean Silva. According to Silva himself, Hunter Campbell reached out to him, brought the contract to White, and said, 'Hey, Dana White, sign this.'"

Recall that the Brazilian fighter had previously declared he was willing to put his entire UFC career on the line for a title opportunity.
