Meet Olympic Skier Khristina Matsokina in a Free Live Event on April 24
The Metallist Sports Complex continues its series of live meetings with sports heroes, "All About Sports." On April 24 at 5:00 PM, the oval hall of the complex (8 Pushkin Street) will host a session with Khristina Matsokina, an International Master of Sports in cross-country skiing and a participant in the 2022 Winter Olympics, according to the Magadan mayor's press service.
This is the third event of 2026 under the project, which introduces Magadan residents to young, ambitious athletes who have achieved outstanding results not only in the Magadan Region but also on the national and international stages.
Khristina Matsokina's sporting achievements: - Two-time silver medalist at the Junior World Championships (JWC) - Silver medalist at the U23 World Championships - 2019 Winter Universiade champion in the team sprint - Participant in the 2022 Winter Olympics (Beijing)
"We want young athletes to see real-life role models. Khristina is a true legend who went from local Magadan competitions all the way to the Olympics. These meetings inspire and show that hard work always leads to success," commented Yevgenia Bogdanovich, director of the Metallist Sports Complex.
At the event, the guest will share her athletic journey, discuss overcoming challenges, and reveal how she prepared for major competitions. She will also take questions from the audience. All are welcome, especially young athletes and their parents.
