Magadan's children honor WWII heroes with a moving musical flash mob

A musical flash mob honoured the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Magadan’s Victory Square. Over 200 children and 30 teachers from nine local kindergartens took part in the event, organised for the fifth year by the regional branch of Educators of Russia. Preschoolers performed wartime songs, including Katyusha and Apple and Pear Trees Are in Bloom. Passersby in the square joined the children, singing along in unison. After the performance, flowers were placed at the base of the Knot of Memory monument.

A moment of silence followed, paying tribute to the fallen heroes of the war. Zoya Vasilyevna Mulekina, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, addressed the young performers, along with regional lawmaker Andrey Aksenov, who has taken part in the special military operation. Victoria Golubeva, Deputy Chair of the Magadan Regional Duma, also greeted the children and teachers at the event.

The flash mob, titled We Will Keep Memory in Our Hearts, brought together kindergartens, veterans, and local officials. The gathering marked the lead-up to Victory Day with songs, tributes, and a shared moment of remembrance.
