Kazakhstan's preschoolers shine at Eurasian Cup's traditional games debut
The international Eurasian Cup tournament in the traditional games of togyz kumalak, bestemshe, and mangala is underway in Tokat, Turkey. The large-scale competition has drawn nearly 40 athletes from Kazakhstan, Egypt, Syria, Turkey, and the Czech Republic.
A standout feature of this year's event was the first-ever ethno-Olympics in bestemshe and mangala for five-year-olds, held as part of the togyz kumalak program.
In this challenge, preschoolers from Astana's nursery schools delivered the strongest performances. In the boys' bestemshe category, Arnur Serikbay, a pupil of Kindergarten No. 37 "Arman", took first place. Among the girls, Ailin Kali from Kindergarten No. 69 "Yerkemai" claimed the top spot. The roster of medalists also included Beksultan Sapargali of Kindergarten No. 66 "Tolagai" and Mansur Alibayev from Kindergarten No. 67 "Shugyla", both securing third-place finishes.
Meanwhile, Kazakh gymnast Akmaral Yerekesheva earned a bronze medal at the World Cup stage in Azerbaijan.
