Kazakh Village Bans Alcohol to Preserve Its Crime-Free Legacy
Kiyakty village in Aiteke Bi District has taken a firm stance against alcohol. Residents unanimously agreed to ban its sale and consumption during a recent meeting. The decision follows years of low crime and strong community cooperation in the small settlement of 207 people. Local authorities, police, and villagers gathered for a preventive meeting to discuss crime prevention and public safety. Topics included promoting healthy lifestyles, strengthening public order, and maintaining the village’s positive social environment.
The initiative to reject alcohol has already gained support across the region. In 40 other settlements, similar bans have led to fewer domestic conflicts, improved public order, and greater safety. Police credited Kiyakty’s success to the residents’ unity and active involvement in preventive efforts.
Kiyakty itself has recorded no crime or administrative offences in the past five years. Officers praised the community’s responsible attitude and urged them to keep fostering mutual respect and lawfulness. The alcohol ban reflects the village’s commitment to safety and social harmony. With no recorded offences in years, Kiyakty’s approach has become a model for neighbouring areas. Authorities will continue monitoring the initiative’s impact on public order.
