How a TikTok Star Turns Heartbreak Into Hope for Sick Dogs

Isabel Klee, a well-known dog fosterer with over a million TikTok followers, has spent years caring for animals with serious health issues. Her journey began at 25, and her dedication has touched the lives of many dogs—including those in their final days. Last December, Klee took in Zero, an elderly dog suffering from dementia and other medical problems. The rescue organisation later decided euthanasia was the kindest option when his condition failed to improve. Klee adopted him before the procedure, staying by his side until the end.

After Zero’s passing, she stepped back from fostering for a while. But she soon returned, this time with Simon, her first adult dog—a tan-coated Jindo mix with complicated epilepsy. Despite his health struggles, she adopted him permanently. Now, Klee is fostering Gracie, a long-haired grey Chihuahua mix battling diabetes and glaucoma. Her experiences, including those with Simon, inspired her memoir, *Dogs, Boys, And Other Things I’ve Cried About*, which she dedicated to him.

Klee continues to share her fostering stories online, offering a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of caring for vulnerable animals. Her work has built a large following, while her memoir honours the dogs that shaped her journey.
