Halle's water playgrounds open May 15—but one stays closed for summer

Halle’s water playgrounds are set to open on May 15, just as warm weather draws residents outside. Temperatures have already climbed above 20 degrees Celsius, increasing demand for outdoor activities. However, not all play areas will welcome visitors this year. The official start of the water playground season begins on May 15. Locations in Heide-Süd and Halle-Neustadt will open as planned, offering relief from the rising heat.

But the popular *Fruits of the Sea* playground in Silberhöhe will remain closed. City officials confirmed it needs major repairs and will stay shut for the entire season. Despite the warm conditions, none of Halle’s water playgrounds are currently operational. The delay has left families waiting for the May 15 launch date.

Residents will soon have access to two water playgrounds, but the Fruits of the Sea site will not reopen in 2024. The closure means fewer options for cooling off during the summer months. Renovation plans for the Silberhöhe location have not yet been announced.
