Gießen's city centre turns into a playful maths playground this Easter
From March 30 to April 11, 2026, the city center transforms into an exciting discovery zone: Four interactive exhibits from Mathematikum Gießen invite visitors to experiment, puzzle, and get hands-on. The mobile stations—each roughly 1 x 1.5 meters in size—bring science directly to the pedestrian zone. Visitors can look forward to two fascinating mirror experiments and two tricky string challenges that require plotting paths and routes. All exhibits were specially designed for outdoor use, showcasing Mathematikum's signature playful approach to learning.
A Fun Easter Quest Through the City
At the heart of the event is an entertaining Easter game: Those who find all four exhibits can not only try them out but also enter a grand prize draw. The task is simple—locate the exhibits, note the participating stores on an entry card, and submit it. Here's the twist: The exhibits may change locations during the event, keeping the hunt exciting!
The initiative blends shopping with adventure, offering families with children—and all other visitors—a fresh way to explore the city center. These small islands of science promise variety, fun, and surprising "aha!" moments.
